I know that sounds crazy but it is finally happening. Our adoption finalization is right around the corner and the end of waiting is near.

For those who don't know, the state of Tennessee requires an adopted child to be in your home for 3 months before you can start the legal adoption process. What that means for us is that we will be his official parents, his last name will be changed to ours and we can stop sending in documentation for all wellness check ups, home studies, and physical therapies.

Basically, we can stop waiting and truly just live life with little man.

As much as I am sad this process is coming to end, I truly am excited to start watching him grow and becoming his own person. To start building a healthy relationship with his biological parents with limited mediation. To raise him as they have asked us to. And legally write his last name as our own.

I know that all seems a little petty and hardly anything. BUT we have been waiting for this day for so long! And we can't wait for his true adoption day within the next month.

With that being said. Instead of a baby shower we are planning to do a meet Alijah day. We are so thankful for everyone who has followed our story and our  adoption journey, we want to celebrate it all with you!

Until then we ask for many prayers for his biological parents.

We pray that they still seek comfort in their decision.

We pray we can be there for them if they need us.

And pray that Alijah is able to understand the goodness of this journey.

We also ask you to pray for us.

Pray that we can parent him in a God fearing way.

Pray that we continue to learn ways to approach his needs.

Pray for our family to be healthy and grow closer together.
